HYDERABAD: Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP), a Fortune 200 company and one of the world's largest providers of computerised transaction processing, Wednesday announced the setting up of its Global Technology Centre here. The centre, which would be operational from July 15, would be a significant move towards consolidating and expanding the company's operations in India. The Hyderabad facility would offer critical services and support to the company's global clients. The two million-dollar-centre is coming up in a 40,000 square feet area in Banjara Hills. Announcing this, Malcolm Thorne, ADP vice-president and general manager, said: "India has all the advantages -- location, quality manpower, time zone differential, higher productivity, IT infrastructure and supportive regulatory environment. All these factors compelled ADP to expand our India high technology backbone operations." Equipped with a 2 Mbps International Private Leased Lince Circuit (IPLC) link direct to the U.S and a 2 Mbps Internet bandwidth, the new facility would provide a global working environment and facilitate direct client interaction through excellent voice infrastructure. "We have a 400-strong associate base supporting growth of operations in India and propose to increase employee base from 400 to 1,000 in the next fiscal year," said Ayush Maheswari, director, technical services and operations, ADP. "Our primary focus would be to expand utilisation across several areas of our business to improve time-to-market, service level quality and quality of life of our associates. "This expansion is in keeping with ADP's firm-footed approach towards establishing and growing its businesses worldwide. The Indian operations will see a steady growth over the next few years," Maheswari added. ADP Inc. is a $7-billion conglomeration providing transaction processing, data communication and information services to more than 500,000 clients. It develops innovative products and services to help clients save valuable time, make the most of their employees and resources and boost their bottom line.
