4. Freddie Young:

Freddie Young, a Michigan Lottery millionaire, who hit a $46.5 million jackpot with a lottery club, is a U.S. Postal worker. He is convicted of shooting his daughter's landlord, Greg McNicol, an Australian real estate developer during an argument over unpaid rent. Young shot landlord with a .44 and the landlord bled to death while on the phone with a 911 operator. But, Young's attorneys have argued that he might have been defending himself. Later, he was sentenced to 25–30 years for second-degree murder and his $1.5 million share of the lottery winnings was frozen by the judge.

3. John Gordon Abbott:

John Gordon Abbott, along with CIA officials Phillip Arthur Thompson and another man Michael Hennessey, is a prime accused in the murder of San Francisco actress Valerie McDonald in 1980. The three men were managers of apartment building where Valerie resides. The crime crossed the U.S. state lines of California, Oregon and Washington; it crossed the border into Canada where Valerie’s body was dumped. Abbott, who fled to Canada after the crime, tried to murder a police officer.  After turning up in New Zealand in the 90s, he acquired millions dollars’ worth of property, which no one is sure where all the cash came from.
