7 Unlucky Actors Who Turned Down Great Roles

Bangalore: There are a zillion actors in this world, but we only remember a handful, why? Actors are remembered by the magnificent characters that they have portrayed. It is not wrong to say that they are made immortal by the roles that they made immortal. But, not all actors get that opportunity, that 'once in a lifetime opportunity' to give life to one such character in a movie that is going to be remembered always. Usually, when such an opportunity presents itself they will be willing to die for it. But, there are a few actors, who completely misjudged these opportunities and said 'no thanks' to them. Let us have a look at a few of those miserable lots.
7. Gillian Anderson
The big star from X Files, sadly that is the only work of hers that people know her for. She could have changed the whole scenario in 99, but she failed to see it. That was the year when she was offered the role of Bethany Sloane in the movie Dogma. She said no and the offer went to Linda Fiorentino who took it without a second thought. Dogma turned out to be a very controversial and cult movie that is still talked about. Bethany Sloane was one role that will never be forgotten. Bad move Gillian!**
