72 percent companies may create new jobs in 2010

By SiliconIndia,Thursday, 14 January 2010, 18:24 Hrs
New Delhi: If you want a job, be ready with your resumes, as hiring and business sentiment of recruiters across industry sectors seems to be improving, as about 72 percent firms plan to create new jobs in 2010, according to a survey.

According to the he 'Hiring Outlook' survey conducted by leading job portal Naukri.com among over 800 recruiters, the is an optimistic and vibrant employment picture for the year. In comparison to 2010, only 45 percent had predicted new job creations in the previous survey conducted in July, 2009. The survey also stated that 62 percent recruiters predict salary increments to take place in the year as well.
72 percent companies may create new jobs in 2010

Sumeet Singh, National Head-Marketing and Communications, Info Edge (owner of naukri.com) said, "Hiring expectations and business sentiment of recruiters across industry sectors have improved considerably and job seekers can look forward to a favourable hiring environment all through the year."

Now it would be interesting to see that whose demand will be more; freshers or experienced professionals. According to the survey, over 70 percent recruiters in IT, ITeS, auto, telecom, banking and pharma predict that hiring would be robust in 2010, while 82 percent recruiters said that professionals with one to eight years experience would be in demand, reports Economic Times.

Meanwhile, a staffing firm TeamLease said in its report that corporate India was still cautious about its hiring intentions in the January-March period, despite slight improvement in the employment outlook index.

56: Its a good News, Hope for the Best...But the recent trends in world Economy says that there may be "double dip"- The predictions are that we can have a great depression caused in 1929. Always be prepared for anything the good or the bad.

57: Really I'm expecting too to see that huge opportunity
Posted by: Rajthilak - 14 Jan, 2010

58: Naukri.com is the leading recruitment portal in India. The job portals' business lies in the selling of their products like database, job postings or visibility services, when there is a recruitment need for companies.

According to the present market scenario, recruitment has not geared up and is still very slow. How can 72% of the companies be so sure of creating new jobs? UK has not come out of recession yet. Dubai market has gone down too.

May be, by the end of this year market may become stable but cannot be told with 100% surety. It's a kind of hype as well as a brand promotion for the job portal itself.

66:I agree to what Mr. Indranil Majumdar says, Most likely it sounds as if the portal wants some definitive business based on the hype being created by this survey. They have got all sorts of tie ups with VAS providers as well. Now most of the times the users will have to send an sms in order to apply for any opening. This sure is a decent idea of getting more business to the portal itself.
