5 Funniest Vampire Flicks of All Times
A perfectly win-win scenario of Wes Craven directing Eddie Murphy in a horror comedy - a film that could not possibly fail at the box office- got only lukewarm response and the critics completely ignored it. To watch it no, however is to find a long gone lost classic. The movie is, on the whole a lot of fun with Eddie Murphy's character - a vampire named Maximillian, who plays a dark version of Prince Akeem from "Coming to America" and because Craven finds a reason for Murphy to play a couple of different characters in the film. . Kadeem Hardison and John Witherspoon bring the comedy cleverly on their own, with the former literally relapsing as Maximillian's "ghoul." Okay, so perhaps Craven's efforts at combining comedy and horror were pretty gauche, but it is not like he didn't learn a thing from the experience; his next venture was "Scream," where the comedy/horror blend was almost perfect.
