Expats ask U.S. to put MNS on terror watch list

Patna: A group of non-resident Indians (NRI) has asked the U.S. to put Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on the "list of terrorist organisations which are out to hurt the humanity".
"We requested the U.S. department of state to put Raj Thackeray and his group Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on the list of terrorist organisations which are out to hurt the humanity," said a letter to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice by the US-based NRI group called Humane Mumbai.
NRI Ravi Verma, who hails from Katihar in Bihar, formed the group Humane Mumbai.
"There are several Indians of Marathi origin who were among the first to join the group Humane Mumbai," Verma told IANS over phone from California.
After the hue and cry in India in the wake of the attacks on non-Maharashtrians, the Indian diaspora is also not taking this lightly, he said.
"The Indian diaspora prays that there is never an insane (person) like Raj Thackeray in the US or UK who starts a US or UK Navnirman Sena and instigates attacks on the Indians living there," Verma said.
Verma said Humane Mumbai initiated the process of putting Raj Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on the infamous terror watch list Thursday.
Once Raj Thackeray is on the terror watch list, they will be under surveillance by the US for their activities, he said.
Verma, CEO of Telecommand Software and Services in the Silicon Valley, said there was widespread dismay among Indians throughout the world over the persecution of people of North Indian origin living in or visiting Maharashtra.
Indians of Marathi origin are particularly embarrassed at the events back home, he said.
The protests continued in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh against the attacks on non-Maharashtrians.
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and Steel Minister Ramvilas Paswan have demanded a judicial probe into the killing of Rahul Raj, a youth from Patna, in a Mumbai bus by police Monday and the lynching of Dharamdev Ramnarain Rai from Uttar Pradesh the next day.
Another youth, Pawan Kumar from Bihar's Nalanda district, was allegedly killed by MNS activists in Mumbai after he had gone there to take a railway recruitment exam.

2: WHO CARES what US thinks that is happening in
India. So my question to these smart Bhiharis
is ‘What initiatives do they have to
fix issues in Bihar’. Nobody has seen
any progress with Bihar for long time. Still
they continue to elect person like Lalu. I am
definitely sure Raj Thakre has woken up many
folks to read on the issue and its background
on the question ‘WHY’. Since
the topic of north indians in Maharashtra has
brought, I had been following some Bihar news
and they are TERRIBLE. I would say that
someone should protect Maharashtra OR any
other state with this type of crowd. In
short, I will continue to contribute to
cause. I wont like Maharahstra to be another
Bihar.

whether you are within India or outside...Why dont we use our brains at least once before we would be split again into small provinces and ruled by local thugs...whatever designation you may want to give them..we were ruled by different rulers for centuries using the same strategy of "divide & rule" ...
We are known for our skills in IT around the world...most of us check the web bofore breakfast in the morning..Let us use the same media to spread the message to one another that "let us not allow any selfish un-ethical immoral (you can add more qualifications if you wish...) so called leaders to split us once again...spare the country...spare the basic social fabric of our great nation....the multi cultural social structure of India intact for the sake of our future generations..."
I have one simple solution for retaining our nation's social fabric... encourage inter-cast marriages...inter-religion marriages within the country...let the husband & wife retain their own surnames and follow their own culture & festivals... but allow the children out of these wed-locks to decide whichever culture .. whichever religious believes they wish to follow.. Trust me.. they would never have the kind of hatred feelings visible among our conventional population of today.. And no bloody leader would be able to brain wash those new generations by using regional or some other useless emotional issues... We can then dream of building an India which would be a truly global power... Think Think Think.... Stop blaming politicians... IGNORE them... Use your brain to decide and make a difference... The Actual Truth
Since Independence India's States were formed on the Basis of the Local Languages. Logical.
Since 1976, The employment criteria of the Central Recruitment Board was divided into zones as per the General People of India. This division was based on the Local Language of the States.
Zone-A Bihar, Haryana, HP, MP, Rajasthan, UP, Andaman, Delhi formed the Hindi Speaking Zone.
Zone-B Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab & Chandigad, the Non Hindi Speaking Zone.
Zone-C Southern India States like Kerala, Karnataka, etc. & North Eastern States like Assam, Mizoram, Bengal etc.
The Central Employment Rule said that 'All Exams for Employments in the respective Zones shall be Held in the Respective States Only.' So that the Local People may get the Jobs in their Home Town. Very Logical. For 30 Years everything was going Fine.
But since 1987, there was a Minor Change in the Rule 9 Part 9.2.2, for Zone -B Jobs. And this was made a Rule since 1988. This change was that 'As an optional Language of employement, People of Zone-A can apply for Jobs in Zone-B.' This opened up doors of Employement for All Zone-A aspirants in Zone-B areas.
But with this Clause there was a Sub-Clause, stating ' The Notice of Jobs in Zone-B areas for Zone-A aspirants, May be given in Zone-A Areas only.' Because of this, Recruitment Notices for Jobs in Maharashtra, etc. are Displayed Only in states like UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, etc. But these Notices are Seldom displayed in Newspapers of Maharashtra, etc.
So this time, for the 3000 Railway Posts in Maharashtra, 12000 Aspirants came from Zone-A areas.
The Result of this is that, the Un-employed of Maharashtra is Remaining Un-employed. This will surely lead to Suicides in Due Course.
Many Parties over these years Requested the Central Recruitment Board to Cancel this Clause. But this was Not done. The Result of this is, the Large Scale Beating Up and Rioting Today. This violent means is Not Correct. But has there been any choice Left toda

to be forcibly divided into three States,
vis, Bombay, Maharastra and Vidarba, as per

and never the mm Marathas, who belong more in
Satari and should have their Capital there.
Bombay with all India Investments and Skills

country where ppl have to walk miles to get
drinking water. All Villages dont have
electricity.Education and healthcare is in a

Its true that firstly we all are Indians and then a citizen of a state, but, at the same time, India is a country which was formed by merging states and its not easy to take out the maatee putra feeling from the heart and souls of the people just by the fact that these states are bound under certain law to be a part of India
Its true that a north Indian doesnt enjoy a very good time in South and vice versa is also true
I have seen UP/Bihar students treating south Indian students as inferior in their heart and brain in North India college hostels
So, the difference here is that Mr Thakrey says it loud (which ofcourse is not good, coz it propogates the feeling of division more then anything else) while other just dont say it
For this feelings conflict, what is needed is a national platform with leaders from all political parties and states including Mr Thakrey, Bihar leaders, UP Leaders, South India leaders and Maharashtra leaders, where things can be discussed at length and resolution may be passed on a code of conduct, rather then going to a 3rd country like USA and start asking them to interfere in this internal matter to India

wat Lord Mountabatten (the last viceroy of
India) has said - "...You Indians are not

I definately beleive that Political climate and criminal situation in the state or city contributes to the decision of industrialists, in addition to logistics and infrastructure. Otherwise how once sleepy backward Andhra started attracting so many industreies in last one dacade?

It is economically good for the different states to receive investment, but not at ANY cost. I was never a supporter of Mamata, but why would the Tata's stick for a piece of very fertile agricultural land to set up a car manufacturing plant? And if the choice of land changed, why would it move the whole equation to another state? Do you ever read the and analyse finer details from far-away Baltimore? If not, at least look around where you live and try to notice how protective the USA (or any other developed country) is about their own agriculture. However, there is a lesson to be learnt for people from Bihar and Up and also West Bengal. They elect people like Lalu and Paswan and Mulayama and Mamata Bannerjee who do not have any progressive outlook. They prevent any companies to come to thier state and put thier tent and hence there are no job opportunieties at all in thier own states.
It is the time for UP, Bihar and Bengal to look forward and banish these stupid politicians and bring some level minded leaders who has peoples welfare in thier heart.
B'cos of heavy crime or plotical interference, nobody is putting up theier industries in these states, whereas Maharastra and many other south Indian states welcome Industries and mostly peaceful.
