Gates regains richest American title from Buffet

Bangalore: Bill Gates is back. After loosing the America's richest person title against renowned investor Warren Buffet five months earlier, the Microsoft Chief, Gates regained the title. According to the latest list of 400 richest Americans by Forbes magazine, Gates is the richest with a networth of $57 billion, followed by Buffet with a networth of $50 billion.
Earlier, Forbes had ranked Buffet on top with a networth of $62 billion in its previous list of world's richest billionaires, and Gates placed only after Mexican giant Carlos Slim Helu, who was the second richest with $60 billion. Slime has not been included in the latest list as he is a Mexican.
However, both Buffet and Gates have declined in their revenue share in which Buffet had greater loss of $12 billion against a loss of $1 billion for Gates.
The top ten of the list also includes Oracle's Larry Ellison, Jim Walton, S Robson Waltton , Alice Walton, and Cristy Walton and family of Wal-Mart, Michael Bloomberg, Charles Koch and David Koch.
Moreover, the Forbes list has also mentioned four person of Indian origin. Kavitark Ram Shriram is the leading person of Indian origin ranked at 281 with $1.7 billion. Amar Bose and Bharat Desai and family occupied the position of 321 with $1.5 billion and Vinod Khosla with $1.4 billion ranked 355.
Apart from that, there are 42 women on the list with an average net worth of $ 4.2 billion. The magazine said that media celebrity Oprah Winfery saw her wealth surge by $200 million to $2.7 billion.
Forbes also said that the minimum net worth in the U.S. list remains $ 1.3 billion for second year in a row, but the cumulative net worth of America's 400 wealthiest has risen by only two percent, or $30 billion, to $1.57 trillion.
