Hyundai Motor sells 44,710 units in August

Chennai: Leading car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India sold 44,710 units in August 2008 against 28,394 units sold in the corresponding period last year, a top official said Monday.
The company exported 23,100 units while domestic sales stood at 21,610 during the period.
"The Hyundai products starting right from the Santro and i10 to Accent have done exceedingly well. We hope that in the coming months the economic conditions will improve so the industry stabilises," Hyundai's senior vice president-marketing and sales Arvind Saxena said.
The company sold 38,477 units in the A2 segment (Santro, i10, Getz Prime), 6,193 units in the A3 segment, 37 Sonata Embera models and three Tucsons in August this year.
