Airtel to launch new mobile transaction solution

Bangalore: Bharati Airtel, one of india's major telephone service providers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with XIUS-bcgi,a provider of mobile phone solutions, to run a pilot project of XIUS-bcgi's new telecom solution. According to the MoU, Bharati Airtel will use XIUS-bcgi's eCogNito solution, an end-to-end mobile transaction platform in a pilot basis.
Bharati has a subscriber base of 50 million in India. XIUS-bcgi is a unit of Megasoft, a provider of Telecom and IT solutions. The tie up effort is expected to make the mobile transaction simpler and faster.
Sunny DeWakar, President, XIUS-bcgi's eCogNito division, said "eCogNito solution offers mobile network operators a quantum leap in operational efficiency of their revenue assurance systems by providing anytime, anywhere electronic talk time charging and bill payment in self service mode." "It simplifies and speeds up day-to-day mobile transactions and is an ideal replacement for smart cards that are currently being used for different applications," he added.
Pallab Mitra, Head, M-Commerce, Bharti Airtel, said "We have generated early interest with the current launch of our mobile commerce service in India, and we already have more than 260,000 customers signed up. We believe that the solutions being offered by XIUS-bcgi will improve the ease of use and accessibility of new products and services that we plan to offer with our m-Commerce initiatives."
