Accenture to hire 13,000 employees

New Delhi: Accenture, a global consulting and technology services provider is projecting to increase its current India headcount of 37,000 to 50,000 by the end of April 2009.
"Most of our business in India would be focused on the third party solutions and a little bit on the captive sector," said P G Raghuraman, Accenture BPO Lead Executive.
The company is also eying new acquisitions in the domestic market BPO Market. "In the last quarter, we made 10 acquisitions globally and there is lot of scope for replicating it in the country," said Raghuraman, without disclosing the names of the companies on radar.
"If we go for acquisitions, it would be for increasing our capability and delivery network and not for merely increasing our scales," he added.
"In the future, we are looking at all emerging sectors including telecom, retails, FMCG for providing support with our BPO network. In addition, we are also seeking to tap the opportunities in sales support, finance and accounting and supply chain management," Raghuraman said.
In India, the company presently has 13 centers located in six cities.

Praveen. I don't know why u said all this. I guess, you do not know what BPO's really are, and what they offer to the youth. Money & an international exposure are just the basic starters.
I wanted all to know & understand that it is pessimists like this dude (praveen sankisa ,B.Tech,NITW) who make life miserable & pathetic for all. They neither do any good in their life, nor let other do good.
Grow up bud... and I mean from the brain side, not from down under...

13: dude...networking here has nothing to do with
core networking.........and secondly i
believe BPO's are infact doing more damage
than gud....they are tapping young brains of
india and making use of them rather i would
say jus by showing some money are exploiting
indian youngsters to the max.........at the
end of the day the work done in a call centre
is of no use to advance in
career..............atleast the students who
r getting into BPO's should realise this and
do something which takes them ahead
professionally..............if this continues
then in due course of time india is gonna be
in huge trouble.......i would say indian
youth is gold and "golden utensils are
useless in kitchen".

21: However it is very difficult to consider, coz
now-a-days IT industry going with serious
down fall. Most of the IT companies going to
cut down there employees like convergies,
patni etc.
Hope, Accenture will not pull back its legs from this announcement.

coming up with the employment while others
are degrading their development,But well
done, atleast Accenture will give a better
growth to india.I'l wonder if someone winds
up this issue. Make sure that Accenture will
pace up with this employment.

25: while i congratulate u for ur aggression to
hire,& provide jobs, think it over u may be
hiring many fresh engineering graduates only
to provide them with a call centre job which
the above candidates may be caught unawares,
& miss out on good jobs related to basic
engineering companies.

pit. It is hard to believe Accenture making
such decision while other players are cutting
down employees.
