Serial blasts hit India's IT city

Bangalore: India's IT city Bangalore has been hit by seven low intensive serial blasts in Adugodi, Mysore Road, Madiwala, Mallya Road, Langford Road and Shivaji Nagar. The sources said one person was killed and 20 others injured.

City Police Commissioner told Reuters. "Some of them were in crowded areas. At least person was killed and 15 to 20 were injured."

The companies like Wipro, Siemens, Kien, Cisco, SAP are awaiting for the clearances from the city police commissioner. As per the sources, the company buses will be made available to the employees only after the clearance of the commissioner.

SAP which employs close to 4000 employees announced through a public address system asking its employees to stay within campus.

One of the company's email states, "We have received reports of some serial bomb blasts in various parts of Bangalore. We are ascertaining the details and shall give you detailed update. All are advised to avoid movement in public places till the situation is stable."

In most companies, as the management is not aware of the information, they have not communicated to the employees. However the employees are panic, as they are getting updates from their counterparts as well as other sources.

Comment 1: These terrorists are cowards. They dont have the guts to come in open daylight and fight face to face. They remain hidden and attack innocent people. They are basically cowards. All terrorists should be shoot at sight whervere and whenever they are caught by our army/police. These bastards dont deserve any legal help and shouldnot be kept in jai;l for justice. They should be shot dead or thrown into the mob for being killed by the mob.

Comment 2: its really sad to see what happened yesterday..dont those people have any kind of empathy for their own human race..so what if it was only 1 death..cant imagine the loss for that family because of stupid cowardly act...they are the real sadists i guess..we can only spread the message of love by our actions..i think everyone of us must take some time out of our busy schedules and devote it to some pristine cause and then hope that this country will get better someday..people are not educated in the real sense..they value education as a mere degree and not as something that brings about mature and straightforward thoughts..

Comment 3: India has been known for its Unity in diversity.its is absolutely true.No where on this earth would any one find such mix of cultures.Let us ask ourselves these questions-Does the fact that the Indian is emerging and its economy is booming is really benifiting the common middle class,Does we all don't want India to be known for its real knowledge and rish natural resourse and thesre are lot more questions to be asked including don't we all need loyal, educated and eligible leaders and government officials?Yes we all want the same.
But how we are gonna make a difference is the real question? We need to bring a change to the choose our leaders. We need to stand up for India,we need some parties and candidates of young blood to stand for the elections,it is definately sure all the educated and sensible people of our mother land are gonna pick them as our leaders. Please let us join hands together to fight against all odd which are ruining the real happiness from mother land. The land for which many great patriots have sacrificed their lifes to see us happy.Don't fight among ourselves? We owe something to the land which has given us what ever we have now.

Comment 4: It is a very sad day for the booming Indian economy particularly in view of what the Manmohan Singh led government is doing for the betterment of the Indian economy and for projecting India as the IT capital of the world.

Comment 5: its bad, but no one knows whose responsible for the same.
well, i think irrespective of any religion, race or place they belong, they shud be sacked.
There are such kind of ppl in every place for whom religion doesnt make any sense, its just they are brain brushed by some external culprits...
Still, some do hard actions, some do hidden actions and some easily cover their actions upon others... it includes all religions and regions.
When a bomb blasts, it doesnt see which religion ppl its killing, so my frnds, be alert, any suspicious raise an alarm, and vote right politician

How many of our politicians are educated ? how many know gud management.
Indian companies are pouring money to govt in taxes and i doubt even if 20% of it is used properly.
The india politicians are such bastards that they are worse than the beggars,
a simple example wud be like, when a metro is sactioned for a city, each MLA, MP fights for the metro train stop near to his properties... this is the fate... they are uneducated but still rule the educated class... they are beggars but still have money in swiss accounts ... its high time to over throw the Govt.

See the developed countries, CCTV monitors every lane and important places, and get into action immediately.

Am bored of listening that india is DEVELOPING COUNTRY since am born, when will it be developed....

Guys what happened to the political party started by IITs and IIMs, support them .. overthrow this uneducated bastards from the throw... and lift away restrictions and see how india can emerge.... the best in knowledge, the best to live in....

I love india, coz i have been here since my birth and am 26 years now...
Have frnds from all religion, but had never fought on that ground any time....

Get Together for a fight, not just in one terms but on a larger scale for a longer impact...

Comment 9: It is truly a cowardly act (although we don't know fully who is responsible).
It is unfortunately ordinary humans have been the collaterals

It is not the terrorists who are outside of India to be blamed but the politicians and the law and order machinery which can not take ownership and responsibility.

IT IS HIGH TIME PEOPLE REALIZED THAT POLITICIANS HAVE OUTLIVED THEIR USEFULNESS AND THEIR POWER AND IMPORTANCE HAS TO BE AXED SYSTEMMATICALLY.

Comment 10: Greetings from Atlanta: City of Peace,

I'm reminded of this powerful quote about Gandhi: Man of the Millennium (Years 1000-2000).
“Gandhi resisted evil with as much vigor and power as the
violent resister, but he resisted with love instead of hate.
True pacifism is not unrealistic submission to evil power.
It is rather a courageous confrontation of evil by the power of love.”

Comment 11: Whenever such incidents happen, we always blame the Police and Intelligence agencies... but does any one really follow the rules on their own?? I bet no one follows unless some one is watching with a cane in hand.. first of all, the level of self discipline should come up.. general public should co-operate with Police and other agencies.. We all are always willing to come first to make our 'Claims' but never do we bother about the 'Responsibilities' as a INDIAN. We always compare things with other so called 'Developed' countries.. Compare with the way we follow their rules once we go there.. but as soon as we come back to India, how many of we INDIANS bother to follow the rules here.. First of all, we should be self disciplined and then we can tell about the Government..

Comment 12: All the police force not doing anything. What about the intelligence bureaue. There should have been much faster action taken. Seven serial blasts it is incredible that too in IT city. what are our politicians doing nothing.......***

Comment 13: disgusting....But our police should act swiftly & smartly so as not to harass common people. As most of the time police worsens the situation by acting like dictators.

Comment 14: The Goverment should give the Police all the power to shoot at sight all the culprit and not waste time in takeing them to court ,and no one should be spared just shoot and close the case.

Comment 15: this the 1st time happened ever in the history of bangalore. this show how safe is our bangalore. it the shame for city police as well as 2 the goverment of karnataka. still i hv great hope on our city police deparment. i request the police 2 nab the offender 2 make our city risk free city.

Comment 16: It is disgusting. It is just to change the issue from powercut and disel problem.
Goverment trying to hide the situation from hiding one issue over another issue.
Posted by : dip - Friday, July 25, 2008

Comment 17: The government should act swiftly on such incidents. This should not go as unsolved mystery in history books. Once they find the culprits, no matter who it is should be hanged to death. None of these should be spared. These idiots dont know the value of human lives. Once they get to know that they will be hanged they will realize that. I also feel that if this is a part of some political plot then no incentives or mercy should be given to them too. And finally the politicians they should work for the country and not work for their family and fill up their pockets.

Comment 18: we are ourself to blame for this situation. We have now become immune to loss of life through this blast as were to poverty, lack of hygiene, etc. The blast becomes another event in our history and nothing is being done about it. Think, had such an chain of blast happened in US or Isreal or UK!

Comment 19: At any cost the culprit should be bring to book. The government cannot sit and watch this. Shame on India. Shame on the democracy, shame on the goverment, shame intelligence bureau, shame on police, shame on myself that i am living here.

Comment 20: These rascals will send all the IT companies off bangalore. Already the companies are relocating to other places it will add fuel to that.

Comment 21: Some thing urgent needs to be done. otherwise it will have a big impact on the IT hub of the country. Moreover lives of people cannot be considered something to be scraped.

Comment 22: This is sick on the part of terrorists to target what is known as the emerging new India, our growing cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai ... and others. But we will not be cowed down by the antics of such perverts who revel in inflciting maximum destruction on innocent persons. There had been terror attacks in Jaipur sometimes back, but could they stop Rajasthan from being a favourite tourist destination for Indians and foreigners alike. The common people won't allow these animals to play with their lives. But on the other side I wonder is there any intelligence network at all on the government side, are they only interested in signing deals (I have nothing against the nuke deal but talking about priorities).
