ThoughtWorks to Host 'Pangea Day' in Bangalore and Pune

Bangalore: ThoughtWorks, the global information technology professional services firm, has announced the hosting of the Pangea Day, on the 10th of May 2008 at 23.30 IST at its Bangalore and Pune offices simultaneously. In accordance to the company’s belief that 'social responsibility is of essence', ThoughtWorks has not only decided to play host to this 4-hour global event but is also one of the sponsors for the same.

Happening in the places like Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Rio de Janeiro, the Pangea Day (www.pangeaday.org) aims to bring together people by breaking all the differences and conflict among them. In a world wherein it's easy to lose sight of what we all have in common, the Pangea Day seeks to overcome that and help people see themselves in others, through the power of film.

Speaking on the occasion, Tina Vinod, Marketing Lead, ThoughtWorks India, said "Hosting Pangea Day, an event which connects people globally through a common forum, seems just the right cause for ThoughtWorks. The best ways to watch Pangea Day is with a community of like minded individuals, and that's the main reason we are here to host this."

Twenty-four short films that have been selected from an international competition that generated more than 2,500 submissions from over 100 countries will be screened at the event.
