JA & EMC India collaborate to improve employability opportunities
Bangalore: EMC, a leading provider of information infrastructure solutions, has announced that EMC India has collaborated with Junior Achievement (JA) India, a not-for-profit organization and member of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide, to overcome skill gaps between the Indian IT industry and fresh graduates from colleges.
This new relationship will involve EMC India COE volunteers and JA India engaging with engineering students aspiring for a career in the Indian IT industry by developing their understanding of the Indian economy, IT industry and the workplace. This will enable the students to make informed decisions about potential career opportunities in IT.
Driven by a blend of practical knowledge, shared experiences and real business situations interspersed with business simulations, the interactions are aimed to demystify businesses and organizations to students and help them understand how IT organizations work and the role professionals play.
Sean C. Rush, President & CEO, JA Worldwide, said, "We are excited about the relationship with EMC India COE. It has come at the most opportune time given the strategic global presence of the Indian IT industry and the need for skilled workforce for maintaining the competitive advantage."
Sarv Saravanan, Vice President and Managing Director, EMC India Center of Excellence said, "Given the employability gap that India is facing and the wide choices in careers available, our relationship with JA India will help make a real and measurable impact that positively influences the lives of students before they enter the IT workforce."
