NRI industrialist Rami Ranger wins Pride of India award



London: NRI industrialist Rami Ranger has been given the Pride of India award for his contribution to British business and industry.

The award, presented by India's Acting High Commissioner Asoke Mukerji Thursday, recognised Ranger's successful trading business, Sun Oil Ltd, which exports grocery items to 62 countries including India.


As well as representing top multinationals such as Unilever, Nestle, Mcvities, Beechams, Mars and Cadburys, Sun Oil also produce their own range of products.

Other recipients of the award were: actress Ayesha Dharker, Lord Khalid Hameed, CEO of Cromwell Hospital, Anant B. Parekh, professor of medicine in Oxford University, C.B. Patel, publisher and editor of Asian Voice, Chief Inspector of Police Parm Sandhu, Lord Mohamed Sheikh, chairman of Camberford Law, and Ritu Sethi, founder of the solicitors firms Sethi Partnership.

This award ceremony was organised by The India International Foundation and not by the High Commission of India in London.
