TCS to open global engineering centre in Pune

Mumbai: IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will set up a global engineering centre in Pune to provide product services to U.S. based company ArvinMeritor, an auto component supplier.
TCS has signed a five-year multi-million-dollar contract with ArvinMeritor. However, company officials refused to divulge the exact amount.
According to the deal, TCS will support the localisation and globalisation efforts of ArvinMeritor's engineering capabilities including product development and support for specific product lines in the Asia Pacific region.
The centre will provide a broad range of product engineering services to cater to the global needs with a specific focus on the Asian market.
Regu Ayyaswamy, vice president, engineering and industrial services, of TCS, said: "TCS along with its group company will deliver end-to-end comprehensive solutions to support the ArvinMeritor global network.
"ArvinMeritor will be focussing on the Asia Pacific region where we are experiencing tremendous growth," explained Tom Watson, vice president engineering and technical planning, light vehicle systems, ArvinMeritor.
TCS' Engineering and Industrial Services (EIS) business unit provides a wide spectrum of engineering enterprise solutions across diverse industry verticals from Aerospace to Utilities.
