Kerala IT firm to organise run for social cause



Thiruvananthapuram: A leading IT company in Kerala is organizing a mass run here Saturday to spread awareness in society on the need to empower differently-abled children.

Suntech Business Solutions, under its corporate social responsibility scheme, is organising the SunTec Run 2008 in association with the National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH).


"With a sense of responsibility towards the society and a special sensitivity towards children and education, SunTec as a conscious corporate continues to contribute its fair share," said Nanda Kumar, president of SunTec, in a statement here Wednesday.

The four-kilometre run will see participation of children and parents of NISH, SunTec's employees and celebrities from various walks of life.

SunTec's employees and the management have decided to contribute to the development of NISH and the first instalment for the same would be presented after the run.

NISH is a society set up in 1997 with the support of the government of Kerala and is an institution dedicated to the total rehabilitation of individuals with speech and hearing impairments.
