3 Indian executives in Google's top management

Washington: Google management is all set to go through a reshuffle. Larry Page, the CEO of Google calls for this move to keep up with the competition posed by various social networking sites like facebook, twitter etc. Larry promoted seven executive to handle key departments. The seven executive holding key departments are: Salar Kamangar the head of video site YouTube, Andy Rubin as top mobile executive, Sundar Pichai in charge of the Chrome browser and operating system effort, Alan Eustace senior vice president for engineering and research, Jeff Huber senior vice president of commerce and local, Vic Gundotra for social ventures, and Susan Wojcicki heading ads. This new move by Google will fetch ways to lay strategy for innovation and generation of more users to its sites. The most striking part of this reshuffling is that three Indians have made it to the top holdings of the Google management .They are Sundar Pichai, VIC Gundotra and Nikesh Arora. These three Indians are part of the management of worlds largest search engine. They have come a long way to be part of this management. Sunder Pichai is a product of Kharagpur Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and was awarded an Institute Silver Medal. He holds an M.S. from Stanford University. Then he went on to complete his MBA in Wharton School. There he was awarded with a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar. Before joining Google, he held various engineering and product management positions at Applied Materials. He was also the management consultant in Mc Kinsey & Company for variety of software and semi conductors. Sunder Pichai has been senior vice president of Chrome of Google since April 2011.Pichai served as Vice President of Product Management at Google. He leads the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google's search and consumer products, including iGoogle, Google Toolbar, Desktop Search and Gadgets, Google Pack, and Gears. He joined Google in 2004. Apart from that he serves as a Member of Board of Advisors at Ruba. He has been a Director of Jive Software since April 2011. One of the biggest accomplishment by Pichai is that on November 19, 2009, Pichai gave demonstration of Google Chrome OS. On May 20, 2010 he open-sourced the new video codec VP8 and introduced the new video format WebM to the public.
