Bangalore: Prediction by Canalys, a famous analyst company states that antivirus software markets are expecting a 8.7 percent growth in 2012, worldwide. The amount is supposed to touch $ 22.9 billion next year.

The analysis also says that small vendors of antivirus software’s will be eliminated from the market by the dominance of companies like Symantec and McAfee and the fast growing companies like Kaspersky, AVG, Panda security and ESET will contribute to a major share in the antivirus market.

The targeted and expected users are SMB based networks which include Windows for workgroups, LAN servers and many other products which use SMBs for file sharing. According to Canalys, most of the small business groups are not aware of the need for a protection to the databases as of the larger business. They are unacquainted with the problems a hacker can cause to the database or the entire network which are not provided with a base level of security.  These small business groups are sensitive on the fields of the product pricing and consumers buying patterns rather than the security threats.

The major vendors like Symantec are making it easier for the companies to buy products through online stores and they support them by giving a chance to buy up to 1000 licenses online.

The strategic move made by these vendors looking for the vast scope of supplying protection and the high volume end of SMB’s market is going to boost and propel the growth of antivirus software market in the near future.
