The activists also called for the Obama administration to reverse its position that extraditing Anderson would have a chilling impact of investment in India.
"If they're refusing to extradite an American CEO to India, then British Petroleum (BP) and the government of the UK can refuse to cooperate when that case comes up for trial," Robert Mooney, a ICJB supporter and anthropology professor at New York University.
Mooney was referring to the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, which has been coined as one of the worst environmental disasters. "I'm sure the American public won't stand for that, why should Bhopali survivors get any less," he said.
"That is one of the biggest tragedies, even though its the worst industrial disaster in human history because its in the poorer country it is virtually unknown," said Akash. "No-one really knows about it. It appears in the news for a week or so when it happened and then people just forgot about it."
"I have been teaching at New York University since 2002 and each year there is dwindling awareness among my new students because they've never heard of it because they were born after it happened" said Mooney. "But the disaster is still ongoing so they should know about it."

It is not a mistake of Anderson, in his administration somebody does mistake, why he should be punished. Anderson is a person who is a very humanitarian, only we can ask him more to compensate for the lives. It is foolishness to blame Mr.Anderson for every major accidents. This is to be treated as major accidents. In India so many people are loosing and dying each minute due to inhuman attitude of people. Like this case who should be punished? Look at the following instances in India:
1. Will our Prime Minister take the final responsibility for all bad things happening?
2. In Tamil Nadu and other states we know each day what is the cruelty behaviour and atrocities happening and many people lost their life, they get nothing. Who will take the responsibility?
Here to illustrate all incidents place and time may not be sufficient. If anybody says that Anderson should be punished, then they should also make the human rights to human rights commission to punish all politicians, Chief Ministers and Union Cabinet Ministers and Prime Minister.

I dont agree with u, if ur Mr. anderson is so much humanitarian, then he should not have avoided the arrest n attending the trail, he is guilt, n he should be punished, not only with imprisonment but also with heavy monetary fines.

America is the Boss..
Boss is powerful..
It will only few days for America to wipe out any country from the face of the world..
So, India is scared like any other country.. and dont want to take chances for any kind of friction between India and US...
SURVIVAL OF THE BEST..accept it..or die like those poor in Bhopal..

US administration refuses to admit Anderson did much wrong as well as extraditing him to India, to stand trials. They also take it for granted that India will continue to sign various treaties as per their expectation. Why are they then trying to dig out Osama bin-Laden and his cronies? Why should different laws apply for different countries? What hypocrites!

Union Carbide did 'NOT' pay. What is crucial here is the connect between the Arjun Singhs of the world and who sell their souls for money at the cost of others' lives. Our country has the worst politicians. Look at the way inflation is rising! There is injustice all around.

You are right, there is need of change in our system like......
1)Limit the politicians for 1 or 2 terms (no politician should contest not more than 2 times in his life time).
2)Election process also need to be changed.
3)Need to re write the constitution again.

Union carbide did pay very very small amount, which is suffice only administrative use. Thousands of people died, and the effect is still in Bhopal, after 25 years on people bodies, new babies etc. When Obama is asking/summoning BP for just 6 americans killed, he is ignoring thousands of indians killed by his country company, so, thousands indian lives are not valuable. Best justice is summon/arrest everybody all indian politicians who helped anderson to escape, and punish both indian co and its parent US co, responsible for this manslaughter. They need to pay $1 billion compensation to all the families affected

Just chill? Just chill about the tens of thousands of lives dead, about the future generations which will be poisoned, about the 15 people a month who die in Bhopal because of the disaster?
You know, one of the problems about the situation is that people in the Western world don't really care - they hear about it in the news, but never stop to think how they can help or even stop to just think about it.
It is because you you and people like you, "lolz", that Bhopal is barely remembered. It is because people like you will just lay back and never think about the world they live in.
