11 foreign technology collaborations, franchise approved

NEW DELHI: India Monday approved 11 foreign technology collaborations and franchise proposals, including that for a tie-up between Hotel Yamunaview Ltd and the US-based Radissons Hotels international Inc. Among other proposals approved by Commerce and Industry minister Arun Jaitley is technology collaboration between Mitsuba Sical India Ltd and Japan's Mitsuba Corporation for production of air-conditioner generators, an official statement said. Hitachi Home Life and Life Solutions (India) Ltd has been allowed technical collaboration with the parent company Hitachi Home Life Solutions in Japan for the manufacture of window and split room air conditioners. Similarly, Pam Glatt Pharma Technologies' proposal for collaboration with Germany's Glatt GmbH for manufacture of pharmaceutical machinery has received the go ahead, the commerce ministry stated. A composite proposal by Bharat Electronics Ltd for technical collaboration and grant of an industrial licence for enhanced tactical computers and wireless local area network for supply to the Indian Army has also been approved. This was among eight cases of industrial licences given approval.
