11 Indian firms among '25 Best employers' in Asia
Bangalore: Indian companies' human resource ability is acclaimed again as 11 companies in India are listed among the '25 Best Employers in Asia', a list prepared by international human resource consultancy firm Hewitt Associates. This means 44 percent of Asia's best employers are based in India, though not all of them are Indian-owned or controlled, reported Hindustan Times. Indian companies in the list include Cisco Systems (India), Domino's Pizza India, HCL Technologies, Godrej Consumer Products and LG Electronics India. The list of 25 Best Employers prepared after analyzing a field of 912 companies across eight countries such as India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong, China and Australia-New Zealand. "Necessity is the mother of invention. Indian companies operate in a much more challenging HR environment than companies in other Asian countries. There's greater diversity in our workforce, our attrition rates are higher than in most other Asian countries and so, our people retention policies have to be that much more spot on than elsewhere," said Yashovardhan Verma, Director, HR & management support, LG Electronics India. D.K. Srivastava, Global Head, HR, HCL Technologies, said, "I think Indian management practices, which are based on typically -Indian values- like compassion and trouble-shooting, are what makes Indian companies employers of choice." The 25 companies which made it to the best employers' list comprise of HCL Technologies, Hindustan Zinc , Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, Cisco Systems, ITC-Welcomgroup (A division of ITC), Intuit Technology Services, Eureka Forbes, LG Electronics India, Domino's Pizza India, Marriott Hotels India, Godrej Consumer Products, Becton Dickinson India, Stryker Global Technology Center, NetApp India, The Oberoi Group, vCustomer Corporation, Paypal India Private Limited, Accenture Services, Kotak Mahindra Bank,Whirlpool Of India, Intelenet Global Services, The Hong Kong And Shanghai Banking Corporation, Hewlett Packard India Sales, Indian Oil Corporation and Ford India.
