Bangalore: 2011 has been a year of ups and downs for most Indian companies. Still, amidst this chaos, some companies have managed to outperform at the end of 2011 and have made their way into a prestigious list. This list of the biggest Indian companies was collated by The Economic Times. Since, this list is quite extensive, the selected top companies across various sectors are as follows -

1) Indian Oil Corporation

Indian Oil Corporation is a public sector company head-quartered in Mumbai. Fortune Global 500 ranked it as the world’s 98th largest public sector company and by revenue; it is India’s biggest public company.

R. S. Butola is the Chairman of Indian Oil. It has an annual turnover of 3,13,628 crore (3.13.trillion). Its Profit After Tax is 7,831 crore (78.31 billion). Its total assets are worth 1,17,406 crore (1.17 trillion). It is currently being traded at 272.50 in the stock market.
