#6 Office Loses Relevance

Microsoft's Office has been a winning battleship. But as Business Insider puts it , "Office runs only on Microsoft platforms and the Mac. As employees start to do more and more work from non-Windows Smartphones and iPads, companies may start to question why they're still buying Office for every employee and upgrading it every two or three releases." Though there is no imminent death for the Office, as companies aren't giving up on Excel, there could be a dire situation in near future.

#5 Windows 8 Fails To Stop The iPad

It could be too early to speak about Windows 8 impact, but the analysts data points that the new Windows software is not going to make a dent in the iPad. NPD, the North American market research company says that Windows tablet sales were "nonexistent" between October 21 and November 17. It also points that Windows sales plunged by 21 percent over that period on a year-over-year basis. And black Friday wasn’t exciting for Microsoft’s new offering, Surface tablet and Microsoft reportedly cut its Surface order in half. However Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft is in denial and said Surface sales were "modest."
