The newest offerings from Microsoft-- Windows 8, Surface, and Windows Phone 8 are getting attention for having fewer apps and for lack of the apps users look most forward to. Windows 8 has over 20,000 apps in its Windows app store and since Windows 8 is only a month old, nothing much can be expected at this point but given the Microsoft as leader in software arena, the fever and not so credible apps points at one thing—the drift of loyal developers. At the same time, Microsoft doesn't have a Facebook app for the Surface. And though Windows Phone has over 100,000 apps its puny in front of iOS that has 700,000 apps, with 275,000 made specifically for the iPad.
