#3. In 1993 April 30, the CERN released the World Wide Web to the public. In order to enhance its availability, CERN made the release with an open license with a basic browser and a library of codes. Towards the end of 1994, the web browser had 10,000 servers and also received 10 million users.

#4. Before settling on ‘the Web’, Beners-Lee suggested names such as ‘Information Mesh’, ‘The Information Mine’ and ‘Mine of Information’.

#5 The web browser that we see today is quite different from that appeared 25 years ago. Initially the WebPages were static, read-only text and the images could only open in new window. The Webpage has undergone huge evolution with inline images and it included most of the features that can be seen today in the browser.

#6 The web that Tim Berners had designed on NeXT computer was too advanced and complicated for the computers of that time. Hence he developed a much simpler web browser that could work with wide range of computers and this was termed as line mode browser. It was nothing but a collection of links with no clicks, images and colors, it just included some content. This browser was so simple that a computer which is capable of showing 24 rows of 80 characters could also run it.
