#8 Dylan Toh

Age: 12 Years

Since childhood Dylan has been urging himself in quest for knowledge. Bored with school studies, he used the local libraries to gain more challenging material. A bit later, the Singaporean Ministry of education approved him for accelerating in mathematics, comparing him with a secondary school teacher to study materials of higher grade levels. The 12 year old did it and then found Brilliant.org for more challenging mathematical problems.

He was later matched with another mentor at the University of Michigan. Studying under the mentorship of Farell Wu, he practiced abstract linear algebra and demonstrated abilities which assumed to place him in the highest levels of scholarship offers from top tier American Universities.

Dylan is now training himself to participate in robotics, mathematics and table tennis competitions in Singapore.

#7 Tadewos Abiye Getachew

Age: 17 years

Living in Bole, a sub-city outside Addis Abada in Ethiopia, 17 year old Tadewos accompanied by his team mates recently won the First Place in a science fair for developing ‘Cognitosoft’ - a software program aiming to introduce students in rural Ethiopia to computer science, physics and mathematics in local languages.

Tadewos has also volunteered in the free distribution of this software program to rural groups. In the Ethiopian National Examination, he scored a 99^th percentile and this placed him first in the Gibson School Systems World Maths Day competition.

Now, Tadewos plans to pursue a degree in computer science and mathematics.
