This one is the most recent of all murders on the list. The current elected and first-time legislator from Doon constituency in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, Ram Kumar Chaudhary is accused of the murder of Jothi, a 24 year old victim. In spite of all the allegations the MLA took the oath at the Shimla Vidhan Sabha, where he was brought by the Haryana police. Currently, he is spending his administrative days in Amabala jail in police custody in Haryana.

7 Thomas Hart Benton
The five-time Senator from Missouri and a staunch American advocate Thomas Hart Benton became infamous after murdering an opposing attorney, Charles Lucas. Nicknamed as ‘Old Bullion’, Benton was the first advocate to serve five terms in U.S. Senate. It all started with a brawl between Benton and Lucas in the court which blew out of proportion, Lucas challenged Benton for a duel. Benton shot Lucas through the throat during the duel on Bloody Island. Back in 1817duels were legal under U.S. laws, Benton was never charged.
