South India's Largest Construction Fair to Begin from Feb 7

Coimbatore: The sixth Edition of 'Build Mat-2013', considered to be the largest construction fair in South India, will begin here from February 7.
The four-day fair would have on display specific class of products like general building materials, construction technologies, tiles, floorings and modular kitchen and allied products, for the benefit of the general public, A O Lakshmanan, Chairman of the fair, told reporters.
The fair would have focus on sustainable development and would be a platform to promote local and special traditional skills and products to encourage artisans of metal, clay products, he said.
Over 250 exhibitors from across the country and overseas are putting up nearly 400 plus stalls to display latest technologies and machineries used in construction industry, Lakshmanan added.
The fair is being jointly organised by Indian Institute of Architects, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers and Builders Association of India.
It would have a two-day concurrent International Conference on Sustainable Development--Priorities for the Construction Industry, which would be addressed by experts from Singapore and Korea, S Pichiaya, Director, Administration of the Fair, said.
