New Delhi : Three weeks after launching its biggest ever housing scheme, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has realized that the rates of few flats have been incorrectly printed in the scheme brochure and modified the prices of its flats in Shalimar Bagh and Rohini by 20 percent.

The scheme was launched on September 1st, 2014 and it is alleged to close in October 9. The total number of flats on offer is 25,034 which are positioned in areas like Rohini, Dwaraka, Narela and many other areas. The rates of flats on offer, one at Shalimar Bagh and 40 at Rohini, were amended through a corrigendum in the news paper. In a public notice on Sunday, DDA stated that the prices of few flats to be revised due to an unpremeditated mistake during printing of prices in scheme brochure.

Neemo Dhar, DDA spoke person announced that “This is the only erratum for a cost of 41 flats which are mainly HIG flats and expandable houses. The price of 40 expandable type flats in Rohini sectors 20 and 25 with a plinth area of 35 sq m has been altered to rs 21.40 Lakhs instead of rs 19.80 Lakhs and one HIG three bedrooms flat in Shalimar Bagh with a plinth area of 84.82 sq m is actually priced at rs 46.5 Lakhs instead of rs 37.50 Lakhs.”

In the scheme brochure, these expandable and HIG flats are shown at serial number 5 and 17 with a locality code of 15 and 51 respectively. In the corrigendum, Delhi Development Authority asked the applicants to take these modifications in to consideration before applying for these flats in the housing scheme form.

A DDA senior official said that “Flat rates which we have stated in the scheme brochure are always tentative and indicative. DDA has not revised the rates of any flats it’s all of a calculation or clerical involuntary error”. Till date, DDA has sold almost 14 Lakh forms and the response is not awfully high.
