The Journey So Far
Started in non-IT sector and moved on to IT. With overall 12 years experience of which 9 years in Information Security, BCP & Physical Security, have worked across IT, ITES, ISP, BFSI and Animation & Films domains. Check my career profile at www.linkedin.com/in/gramkumar
Most Important Decisions
Shifted from non-IT to IT field. Peaked quite early in IT career, was just 26 years when I joined G4S Security Services to head their Cyber Security Division...quite unusual for IT pros to make a shift into non-IT company. Also, moved into Animation & Film industry from IT....unconventional shift.
Most Important Lessons
-Learn, learn, learn! Add skills and validate it with certifications -Network with others -Deliver excellence at your work -Make a difference with your work -Focus on long term career goals and steadily move towards it -Shift before you've to! Never work for folks who don't appreciate your work
Points of inflection
When I boldly decided to join G4S as head of Cyber Security Division...the transformation from a techie to a managerial role. It gave insights in different domains..learning curve was quite steep!
Joined Technicolor to set up security program from ground up as individual contributor.
