I come from a middle class family, my father served to Govt of India.

I would like to see myself at Director level or a Consultant for DB Solutions.
Degrees that Matter
Experience and Thinking as a Customer would be the best certification, also i would recommend to attend seminars learn new technologies and ISTQB/PMP/OCP/MCP Certification would be good to have.

My Bosses by luck who always gave me the liberty and oppurtunity to explore but also always mentored/avoided me from getting diverted or skipping schedules.

Current and Previous Responsibilities
My current responsibilities are managing the teams across globe and reporting to Program Manager
Performing Load Tests and identify issues and suggest for the change required(Tuning)
whereas my previous profile was just a functional testing on DB and before that into development
The Journey So Far
I started my career as a developer on FoxPro and VB along with DBA activities on Oracle 8i and then a full time developer on VB/ORACLE to .NET and then Production DBA on D2k/Oracle and managing small teams and multiple locations and troubleshooting issues,Implementing Enhancement. Later DB Testing
Changes in the industry
QA/Testing industry has grown so vast that we cant imagine it was the developer to test the product and slowly creating space for an individual into testing and now as per the industry standards every company prefers to have 1 Tester for 1 Developer. which is a significant change in years.

Always do what you want and not do it under pressure but always keep in mind about the goals of the company to whom you work for and accordingly adopt for certain situations.
