I have not seen so much changes in my domain(semiconductor/EDA). This profile is always challenging as it requires proper focus towards task & need to keep update our self for future assignments.
Essential Advice
First of all person should have passion to do QA. Person should not enter in this domain to get an entry level platform & leave afterwards for other lucrative offers.

In Brief, If you have good analytical & debug skills and right attitude of learning new technologies then this domain is for you.

Good domain language (c, c , scripting, HDL or verification languages)knowledge.
