Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
I origin from Mysore, the Southern City of Palaces. My dad is a Magistrate and my mom was a lecturer. My parents always wanted me to be a government professional :)
Essential Advice
Yes, go ahead do it, not just because you are paid more than a developer who's the one to introduce the critical moments in your daily work life. But to discover things in a different dimension and to get the domain knowledge on entire anatomy of a project.
Required Reading
Wiki, google and go out, catch some couple of domain experts, build a forum, brainstorm. Thats the best way.

Well, I'm currently a DevOps which is the job wher I should be Master of all, Jack of none. It includes automation, scripting, development, cloud, Opensource, Testing and plotting the roadmap

Theres something called Smart Google. Every one uses search engines and repositories to store, retrieve information out of Data. I see the emerging concept of Big Data. Having considered all the scenarios, whoever sustains doing the things fast enough will be eligible to follow the lane of success.
