Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
My Family originally hails from the Hill state of Uttrakhand, but we are settled in Lucknow for a long time. We are a Family of four, comprising of my Mother, Father and a younger sister. My schooling is from La Martiniere College, Lucknow, which is one of the oldest and a well known Boys College.
Comparison With Other Language
Well, Java is one of the most ubiquitous languages around our midst at present, as we have hundreds and thousands of Applications using Java. It is simple and easy to learn and to use, and can be put to multiple uses, be it programming, application development
and building complex systems around us.
Most Important Lessons
One of the most important traits that i have learnt is to be patient while dealing with People you interact with, since your attitude in dealing with people centric situations can go a long way towards a successful Professional career. Being a good listener is also an important trait to build.
Current Job Profile
Presently working for Amdocs India in Gurgaon as a Data Migration/Implementation consultant(Telecom Domain) that deals with Data Migration Practices from Legacy systems to Amdocs Billing and OSS system. Presently involved in Vodafone India Transformation Project, liasing with both client and vendor.
Areas for the Future
I have not worked much in Java domain in terms of hands on in specific Projects. Mostly deal with Unix Scripting, SQL/PLSQL scripts and Oracle tuning concepts.
Challenges in The Technology
This one is not for me to answer...You need to talk to an expert in Java domain...:)
Scope Of Java
As it seems today, Java has a very exciting future ahead with more and more domains coming in that are using Java technology as their principle platform. With its robust and stable nature, Java is definitely going to be the technology of the Future for sure.
Current Role
Current Responsibilities include Scoping studies to understand Legacy systems, Derive Migration logic, Get involved in Design and Implementation strategies. Also involved in Coding, unit Testing of migration scripts that ensure high quality of data to be brought from Legacy system to Amdocs' Billing
Work Life Balance
Though it becomes difficult to manage sometimes, WLB is an important factor in anyone's Professional Life and must be given due care and respect. Primary aim should to to work within the stipulated time and try to finish as much deliverables as possible so that it doesn't go beyond work hours.
