Growth
I am not a marketing person as I told earlier but certainly I am having exposure to market scenerio and tactics. Though it is difficult trade even no doubt my growth in the organization may be appreciable if opportunity is given for that.
Importance of 4ps
Price, product, promotion, and place. A product is seen as an item that satisfies what a consumer needs or wants. The price is the amount a customer pays for the product. The price is very important as it determines the company's profit and hence, survival. Adjusting the price has a profound impact on the marketing strategy, and depending on the price elasticity of the product, often it will affect the demand and sales as well.Promotion - represents all of the methods of communication that a marketer may use to provide information to different parties about the product. Promotion comprises elements such as: advertising, public relations, personal selling and sales promotion. Place - refers to providing the product at a place which is convenient for consumers to access. In recent times, the concept of four Cs has been introduced as a more customer-driven replacement of four Ps. One is (consumer, cost, communication, convenience)another is (commodity, cost, communication, channel).
Brief yourself
Well, tangibly, I am graduate in Electrical Engineering from Barakatullah University, Bhopal. Presently working as Deputy General Manager in Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd, stationed in Delhi. I have fairly good professional experience while working as different positions of hierarchy. I always enjoyed my work, environment, colleagues and assets. I think it is most important for me that Iam a human being. I am creative, rationale having a objective attitude. I have certain strengths and weeknesses. Ilove good people and having dislike for those who are not good. But I don't hate them. I believe that in a given situation and given circumstances one has to perform and deliver the goods. I love my family, good friends, good human beings. I proov my ability irrespective of all odds but no wrong doing. I don't bother for others at right place. I have passion for art and cultural shows and performances. I strongly believe in parity and fraternity.
Marketing
From a societal point of view, marketing is the link between a society’s material requirements and its economic patterns of response. Marketing satisfies these needs and wants through exchange processes and building long term relationships. The process of communicating the value of a product or service through positioning to customers. Marketing can be looked at as an organizational function and a set of processes for creating, delivering and communicating value to customers, and managing customer relationships in ways that benefit the organization and its shareholders. Marketing is the science of choosing target markets through market analysis and market segmentation, as well as understanding consumer buying behavior and providing superior customer value.
Future trend
I will cite only one example :
'India is one of the most attractive destinations for retailers from all across the globe. Due to the entry of corporate, changing consumer behavior 881984 lifestyle, increasing influence of western culture and rising income of a sector, the Indian retail industry has seen phenomenal growth in the last five years (2001-2006) and organized retailing has finally emerged from the shadows of unorganized retailing and is contributing significantly to the growth of the overall retail sector, according to "Booming Retail Sector in India”, a new market research report by RNCOS.'

- Organized retail market in India is expected to reach US$ 50 Billion mark by 2011.
- Number of shopping malls is expected to increase at a CAGR of more than 18.9% from 2007 to 2015.
- Rural market is projected to dominate the retail industry landscape in India.

The concept is 'profit over people and not people over profit.'
Importance of sales
A business organization can generate revenue from a variety of sources, including operating income from sales, royalties, dividend and interest income from financial assets it owns, payouts from insurance policies, rental income and capital gains from the sale of owned properties. Resources help expand an organizations growth and potential. It makes room for networking, new stratergies and opportunity, resources also open the doors for creativity and innovation. However, even where organizations derive little or no taxable income directly from operations stemming from sales -- such as an investment company -- they must still generally have some sort of sales effort to generate investment revenue to fund their investments in income-producing assets. For example, a limited partnership must often engage in a concentrated sales effort to recruit more limited partners.
Positioning the product
In fact I am working in an electricity transmission company. Because it belongs to Govt of India so it is called utility, a PSU. Being no other good competitor in the market for the bussiness obviously we are the best and our product too. But this is a simplification of the situation. Since when we started with the bussiness we took it seriously in our technical as well as quality aspects. Our working is also comparable with the best private players and we have recieved international appreciation for our job. Any way this is broadly about organisational aspect, on the same time my knowledge, talent and presentation skill in my area of work is quite impressive. Personally I have first hand sytematic experience and know how of my work viz; Extra High Voltage Electrical Power Transmission Project and Maintenance. Being graduated in Electrical Engineering and afterwards having passion for learning and teaching (sharing)experience and knowledge I am enjoying this comfortably.
Differences
The difference between marketing and selling (or sales) is; marketing helps to create or find someone interested in your product or service (we can call this person a 'lead'), whereas sales or selling focuses on converting the lead (enquiry/expression of interest) into a paying customer/client.
Motivating Factor
Motivation is one of the key factors driving us towards achieving something. Without motivation, we will do nothing. Therefore, motivation is one of the key aspects when it comes to corporate management. In order to achieve the best business results, the organization needs to keep employees motivated. I am in person motivated by advancement in technology and inside challenge to perform with perfection and satisfaction.
What can be achieved
A classic quantification of a marketing plan appears in the form of budgets. Because these are so rigorously quantified, they are particularly important. They should, thus, represent an unequivocal projection of actions and expected results. What is more, they should be capable of being monitored accurately; and, indeed, performance against budget is the main (regular) management review process.

The purpose of a marketing budget is, thus, to pull together all the revenues and costs involved in marketing into one comprehensive document.

The marketing budget is usually the most powerful tool by which you think through the relationship between desired results and available means. At the very least, the rigorous, highly quantified, budgets may cause a rethink of some of the more optimistic elements of the plans.
Importance of Marketing
Though I am not a marketing person but indirectly I am also contributing to company's bussiness.
Importance of STP
Segmentation, targeting, and positioning together comprise a three stage process. (1) To determine which kinds of customers exist, then (2) To select which ones we are best off trying to serve and, finally, (3)To implement our segmentation by optimizing our products/services for that segment and communicating for the choice to distinguish themselves that way.
Growth Prospect in marketing
Some people are quick to condemn clichés but what is a cliché? It is a truth that has retained its validity through time. Mankind would lose much of its hard-earned wisdom, built up patiently over the ages, if it ever lost its clichés.

A lie may take care of the present, but it definitely has no future.

Tact is the art of recognizing when to be big and when not to belittle.

Whoever requires knowledge but doesn’t practice it is like the one who plows a field but doesn’t sow it.

You can’t climb the ladder of success with cold feet.

If you learn only methods you’ll be tied to your methods, but if you learn principles you can devise your own methods. ~Emerson
