Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
Dad - Mr. S.R. Bhansali, GM @ Bantia Furniture
Mom - Pramila Jain, Housewife
Wife - Shruti Jain, Teacher @ Oakridge International School
Brother - Jr. Engineer @Hatch (Canada)
The Journey So Far
Started my career with odd Jobs at a hotel, moved on to doing Marketing of software courses and training. A short stint with business of Printing, Stationery and Event Management that dint work so well due to funds crunch, I started my corporate career @Accenture and never looked back
Plans for the Future
Learning and development never stops, I am still learning and want to learn more. Would like to develop as a thorough professional and an individual to take on more responsibilities and managing larger teams. May be in the Mid - Executive Management level.
Most Important Lessons
Trust your instincts.
Trust your people.
Empower your people.
Be very careful with data and numbers.
Document everything.
Do not humiliate people, they are your true assets and will define your success.
Currently working at
Its a gambit of things - Operations - Manage a team of ~450 people
Sales & Business Development - New projects / coverage expansion possibilities
Transitions
Vendor Management - Defining SLAs, SOPs and SOWs. Set KPIs and KRAs. Negotiation and Billing
Role Model
My dad, i have seen him fight, each day at a time. He has really thought me the never give up attitude. Perseverance and Patience is what I have learned from him. Work hard, work smart, dont bother about the results, they will be in your favor some day or the other.
Current and Previous Responsibilities
As I said earlier, Its a gambit of things - Operations, Sales & Business Development,
Transitions and Vendor Management. The earlier role was just around Operations and the learning was limited. However, in this role I have more freedom and of course more responsibility. It is really challenging.
Most Important Decisions
Joining FactSet - It was a company that did not have a strong market presence and not many (rather no one) had ever heard about it. However, I joined because it was new, it had its challenges and you always get to do it your way in a start up. A lot to learn a lot of freedom and great opportunities.
Points of inflection
When I was moved from Ntrance (a subsidiary of WNS) to the Parent company WNS as a Manager (on Secondment) to handle a collections process that wasnt doing well in terms of client expectations.
A Fine Balance:
Simple - Keep your professional and personal life separate. Its work when you are at work and fun / enjoyment / the ME TIME when you are not at work.
