About Me

Yes. I am Mr. G. Prakash working as an Associate Professor in the department of Information Technology, Sona College of Technology, Salem, Tamilnadu.
Education: B.E.,M.E., M.B.A., (PhD)
Teaching Experience:
8.25 years at Sona College of Technology,
5.5 years at S.S.M. College of Engineering,
1 year at Park College of Engineering and Technology,
2 years at Muthayammal Polytechnic.

My inspiring personality

There are no individual role models that I could specify here. Each and every person (including students) had inspired me in various activities and achievements.

Outlook about way to raise quality education

Definitely Yes. The present education system should be modified in various quality aspects.

Firstly, right from the childhood, the specific skills where each student showing their interests should be identified , enhanced and they should be motivated in that area.

Next, there should not be difference in the standards of education viz. Matric, CBSE, ICSE, State Board or anything like that. All the students from the I grade to Higher Secondary grade have to follow the same curricula and syllabi in Education throughout India.

Then only, the quality of education system can be balanced. Otherwise, nothing will happens. Only we can talk, discuss, bla, bla... that's all.

Outlook about increase students’ participation

For each higher level of discussion in the Education department of State or Central Government, the students of the respective grades who had completed should take part in it and their expectations and outcomes should be fulfilled. That itself will make a tremendous change in the final result.

Also, the Central and State elections nominees shall be college students with a basic qualification of Higher Secondary Grades.

For all the students studying from 6th grade to Higher Secondary Grades; "Political Studies", "all Central and State Governments Rules and Regulations" should be added as subjects compulsorily.

Strongest Subject

1. CYBER SECURITY - The act of stealing information, spoofing, masquerading through Internet are major threats to the public society as well as the students community. Hence, to over come these threats, the concerned subject is considered to be the strongest one presently.

My Advice

Kindly do not come to this profession as other jobs are not available. Come with Passion and Involvement. As this is a noble profession and you are going to handle the next generation of young achievers, kindly follow these FIVE simple rules:

1. Be Honest to your students in the academic matters
2. Do not boast that you only knew everything than the students
3. Respect the students as they are our real stakeholders
4. Do not assess and grade the students based on the theoretical tests and examinations
5. Be part of the students as a learner and try to learn along with them.

Way to motivate Students

That is an Open Secret. It is not the 'skills' on knowledge you possess. It is the 'skills' on effective delivery of the subject with all modes of teaching aids and resources.

Normally, I used to tell some real life examples of my past students. And the most important thing, I will bring such 'Alumni' to the college and ask them to share their experiences wit the present students. This will make the students motivated and be aware of the future careers.

My priorities

VERY SIMPLE. THE TOP PRIORITY IS THE TIME SCHEDULED FOR INNOVATIVE PREPARATION OF SUBJECTS AND COURSES TO THE STUDENTS.

Unique way of teaching

THE ENVIRONMENT SHOULD BE FREE ENOUGH. IT IS MANDATORY THAT A TEACHER SHOULD NOT FORCE AGGRESSIVELY TO SIT AND LISTEN A SUBJECT. THAT IS NOT ALSO PRACTICALLY POSSIBLE. KINDLY HAVE SOME KIND OF SOFT KIDDING, HUMOROUS DISCUSSIONS, JOVIAL APPROACHES IN TEACHING. BUT AT THE SAME TIME DON'T BE TOO LENIENT TO THE STUDENTS WHILE TEACHING. AT TIMES, THIS WILL MAKE YOU TO SKIP THE CLASSES ALSO. BALANCE AND MANAGE THE TIMINGS ACCORDINGLY.

Future of Indian Education System

The trend of conventional education system is diminishing. The present system of evaluation will be totally abolished and the marks may not be the only parameter to grade the performance and skills of the students. The Students community are now growing very fast and they want the teaching methodologies should be different such that the latest updates and technologies have to be discussed frequently with a short demo or presentation.

THE MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCE IS GIVEN BY THE PAST AND PRESENT STUDENTS. NEARLY 700 STUDENTS ARE IN MY REGULAR CONTACTS AND OFTEN HAVING DISCUSSIONS WITH ME SINCE 1997. THIS IS THE RESPECT AND REWARD WHAT I RECEIVED FROM MY TEACHING
