Essential Advice
This is very difficult question for me as I'm not expert of advices :).But what I can suggest is If you really want to start your career with QA domain then you have to first asses yourself like your nature, habits & your focus area. You would be good QA if you are cohere to quality in everything.
Parting thoughts
Yes ofcourse,My education is not from high status schools or colleges.I've been studied in govt schools with Hindi medium. What I've realized is, You can set one objective & you have to passionate and focused about this. You will be definitely get your goal whatever past consociated with you.
Plans for the Future
I'll be having more responsibilities/challenges than currently having as I would be more experienced in couple of years. If I believe in destiny,company/org more happy to give me a position which fits to my skillset at that point of time.My belief, I'll be success if more peoples can benefit of it.
Degrees that Matter
I don't think so, Any certification help to boost your QA/Testing career. I personally feel, It would be good If you would prepare or work with specific Tool/Technology rather than doing a certification. Certification will give you just a certificate to help your resume filter in specific companies.
The Journey So Far
I've started my career along with my education.I've completed my graduation with computer honors & got the job as a QA Consultant. After my master's in Computers,I've joined another company as QA Engineer. Now I'm working with Sapient as a Sr Associate, I've almost 6 years of experience in QA/Testing.
Role Model
Yes, My role model and inspired with Akashya Kumar. Don't worry he is Not film star. He was my room mate since I was studying. He is like my brother.I've inspired with his dedication and focus. Once he decided to accomplish anything then he will not sit idle till that time he will not get this done.
