Research Analyst.
Egon Zehnder
My brief description
I currently work with Egon Zehnder as a Research Analyst. I carry a 2 year experience in Business Analytics.
Challenges in job
The most challenging part of my job is to be able to smartly juggle the commercial as well as the technical aspect. In our Consulting industry, it is not only essential to be able to come up with smart ideas instantly, but it is also very very necessary to come across as a conversant individual who is able to express and communicate equally smartly.
Job made easy
Well, though I'm not into the technical field despite having done my engineering; the fact that engineering teaches you to explore and be proactive surely helps. I feel that due to the general inquisitive nature that an engineer develops while pursuing his education, makes him or her inquisitive enough to quickly grasp the tricks of the trait.
Upcoming Trends
Well, I currently work in a Global HR Analytics firm and we all are very well aware of the market situation (especially the European Market). The general trend that I have been observing for quite some while is that there are a lot entrepreneurs on the rise, especially in the USA.
My goal
I want to become a Business consultant and stay associated with the current firm ( with probably an MBA degree)
family background
Well, I come from a family of engineers - My father is an Electrical engineer with Powergrid as DGM. My mother is a teacher at Tenderfeet, My elder brother is a Civil Engineer who is now an Energy Consultant at Schlumberger, Singapore. My twin brother too is an Electrical Engineer with Avaids Technovators.
Advice to professionals
Well, I would just recommend that one should listen to your heart. And have patience, follow your dream.
Advice to students
I'll tell them that one shouldn't worry too much about getting a job even if the placements are bad. One should invest more on oneself rather than on random job placement firms. Go for further studies, explore companies by interning there rather than starting a job. Also, jobs are plenty, you just need to be passionate about the place you want to get at.
