About Myself
Hey, My name is Kumar Ranjan. I am a II year Mechanical Engineering student at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal.
Career Expectations
Size does matter. In coming future things are going to be smaller and much sophisticated. I am an agent working to achieve that goal so undoubtedly there are innumerable challenges.
First Job Expectation
Area of interest, work environment, Money
Family Background
I belong to a middle economy class family. My father is an employee in a semi government institute and mother is a housewife. Even with a low work profile they are highly educated. My dad is an MA in Economics and mom is an MA in Sociology. Due to intense corruption creeping in the university system my parents could not get their PhD awarded. Above all they have fulfilled their duties as a father and mother at every step. I have a younger sister.
Additional information
It has been a great experience for me as a reader of siliconIndia. It has helped me gather a lot of information from the field of science and technology, Business and economy, society and culture.
Most influenced factor
Till now nothing has been such that has made me curious to take up any available career options. I am still judging my opportunities.
Time Management
The work which is of immediate importance gets first priority even if it off my interests
Challenges facing by students
Lack of proper guidance from teachers
Most proud accomplishment
Getting into a worldwide known Formula SAE team is the biggest accomplishment I made till now. It helped me develop qualities like workmanship, realize the importance of time constraints and team work. How in every tough condition we stood for each other and finally achieved to make India’s lightest car.
View s for better India
Every student should first try to inculcate the quality of leadership. Then comes’ the burden of being a good engineer or doctor of whatever profession one wishes to choose.
Most flourishing college experience
Working with a Formula SAE team of my college known worldwide as Formula Manipal
My uniqueness
I never give up; even in worst conditions I stood up and succeeded to move ahead
Spare time activities
I watch animation movies and cartoons, do sketching, listen to music, and design stuff using my CAD software's.
Favorite Books and Articles
I am not much into reading books, but someone prescribed me to read Lectures by Swami Vivekananda. I was quite impressed by the radical ideas he portrayed and how the actions of today’s youth can help achieve them. The impact on me is not directly visible in my actions but definitely my introspection perspective has changed.
Favorite subject
In general I can say Physics of materials but still a few interesting subjects to come up in following semester. I have been working with composites for a quite long now, and the scope and applicability of the product is unfathomable
