The certifications have now become norm in quality profession.I completed ISO 9000 Lead Auditor Course and registered with IRCA (UK). I have attained the status of Chartered Quality Professional (MCQI CQP)through qualification route and member of the Chartered Quality Institute, UK.
Essential Advice
To begin with, one has to attend courses on ISO 9001, Quality Auditing and TQM etc. However, formal qualification such as Master's in Quality Management is the right choice to get equipped with necessary knowledge and skills. Visiting quality websites is an easy way to gain knowledge about quality.
Most Important Lessons
I believe in management by objectives, delegation of authority and empowerment. I believe that today’s competitive business environment is the game of professionals. To accomplish organizational goals & objectives, right person needs to be rightly placed at right time instead of experimentation.

Current and Previous Responsibilities
In my present role, I am heading Quality dept and responsible for the implementation of QA/QC tasks within the framework of the projects and effective implementation of QMS of the company. Both in present and past roles, I was involved in other management functions but QA has always been my core.

My career decisions were influenced to attain a position where I could apply my professional experience, knowledge and skills to meet organizational objectives effectively with self-growth and recognition. My diversified experience helped me to fulfill my responsibilities and aim with a difference.
Currently working at
Presently, I am heading Quality dept. in multi-discipline engineering firm in Saudi Arabia. I am responsible for the implementation of QA/QC tasks within the framework of the projects and effective implementation of QMS of the company as per ISO 9001:2008.
Changes in the industry
Most organizations then considered certification to ISO 9001 as end point while it was the first step in journey toward total quality. Business Excellence is now gaining popularity and it is another name of TQM that integrates all processes for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
The Journey So Far
After graduating in engineering, I started my career in 1999. A quality professional both by qualification and passion, I have over 14 years experience in quality and management systems. Continuous improvement, hard work and dealing with uncertainties best describe my professional journey.
Plans for the Future
Different initiatives are under way and lots of changes are imminent as a result of merger with foreign partners. In next couple of years, I expect to be part of team responsible to implement quality requirements in EPC projects. Provided opportunity, management consulting can be another option.
