Comparison of current work from previous one

I have been associated with Corporate Sector for 13 years and I was handling all the functional areas of human Resources Dept.Prior, I was taking care of Recruitments, Employee Engagement, Compensation 881984 benefits,Employee On boarding and Training activities. Apart from this, I have had an experience of setting up of HR division for start up Organizations.However, my present role is into Academics and I teach MBA students, various nuances of HR.I get benefited from the past experience, since I teach my students mostly from the practical knowledge and experience that I have gained across the years.I also train the students on Corporate Grooming, so that they develop into a confident and successful managers.

Your Role

My present Organization is a Business School. IMM is 44 year of Business School, located at Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi.I am associated with this institute as a Professor and I take care of teaching Human Resources as a Specialization subject, Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Grooming and personality Development to the PGDM Students.I am also responsible for conducting the Placement Drives for the Students if the College and in addition, I am heading the IMM Rotaract Club, in association with Rotary, Garden City, New Delhi.

Important Decisions

I have learnt a lot from my own experiance and the only important decisions that I have taken was the priority that I have also given to the leanings that I will be getting in my work area, rather then getting attracted to the Big Branded organizations. This factor really helped me in taking up challenges and setting up departments and implementation in many start up organizations successfully.Even my present decision of moving to Academics from Corporate Sector was based on the same thought process of learning and experimenting.

After few years

I wish to continue in the Academics and continue to teach and contribute to the younger generation. I also intend to do research into the domain of Human resources, in terms of various HR issues that are faced by the Organizations and employees alike.I am currently working on the Inter Disciplinary research, wherein , the purpose is to use the Principles of Quantum mechanics in various People Management Issues.

Personal Information

I am currently associated with a Premier Management School, Institute of Marketing & Management as a Professor. I have around 14 years of Corporate Experience, wherein I have handled various functions of Human Resources in some of the well known and established organizations.I have been extensively involved into Recruitment's at all the levels i.e from base level to the Management level. Apart from Recruitment, I have taken care of Employee Engagement, Retention functions in companies.Since last couple of years, I am teaching MBA Students, various HR fundamentals, Corporate Grooming and Personality Development and Corporate Social Responsibility. I am from Delhi, India and have completed my Graduation and Post Graduation from Delhi University in Physics.In addition, I have also done my Post graduation in Management from Symbiosis, Pune.

Learnings

In the Professional and personal Journey till date, there are few very important lessons that I have learnt along the way. One of the very important lesson that I have learnt and would like to share is that one must always maintain a positive and focused approach towards one's life. Whether it is your work or dealing with any relationships.Another critical lesson that I have learnt is be thank full to god for giving you all that you have and always work on growing it further.Last very important realization is to always give focus and priority to family, while performing one's duty, esp. to your parents and kids.

New trend

Being in an Human resources domain, one of the trends that is quite visible is the use of Analytics in HR Reporting. Big Data is gaining importance and lot of research is being carried on how to make HR more and more quantized to be able to make it a strategic work unit.

Describe your struggle of achieving success

I started my career as an Executive and gradually, diversified into various roles and functions with a sole purpose of learnings as my as I could.Being an HR Person, I have intentionally worked in various types of set ups like, Multinationals, Indian firms , start ups and this gave me immense opportunity to learn, gain exposure and take on leadership roles.A leader is successful only when one has him/herself started his/her career journey from the start and that's what gave me an edge.
