Recruiting new generation:
Generation Y is a generic term. As a HR, I have come across many youngsters with traditional mentality too. We cannot generalize them. Gen Y is indeed a talent lot with better adaptability to Computerization. Many have taken me by the Surprise in coming directly to the point. Professionally, most are ambitious and have got the needed aggression to grow but in any industry balance, consistency and endurance determine future leadership, positional growth along with financial rewards. All corporates would like to possess and retain talented and contributing staff regardless of age. And with Gen Y comes a good number service years.
Helping to develop the country
Professionals should spread awareness about the very latest Administrative and HR trends across the Global to their local arena. To enable an effective point of view, we should be first of all aware. "Communication is really the Key to Everything". A good start could be using our good contacts for the betterment of everyone.
Identifying and Promoting New Leaders:
Humility, active Listening and Result oriented are not just corporate phrases but hell in making people better. Top management should regularly meet with their leaders at informal venues to better understand and pave a profitable way forward. Non monetary rewards are a great way to motivate and recognize future leaders.
Leadership Programs in Place:
Rather than a formal Program why not give them a day's allotment of Leadership Role in an organization? Small initiatives make a big difference. Co-piloting Respect and mentoring according to me is one of the finest result oriented development.

Improving Education system
Research is critical area where students are not even motivated to do commit. This is a like malnourishment of the the Indian Educational system. Schooling system has not changed for the better in the last 30 years. Unfortunately, good education and systems cannot be afforded and hence remains a premium. Indian Education System at School level brings 'fear and tears' to the Creative Children. At College level, those who venture in Inter Collegiate activities and Exploitative Research equip themselves well for the challenging Corporate environment. The Government should start by radically improving the quality of Teacher Training and the correct mode to accredit. Better pay scales than the current would definitely attract the Quality among the aspiring educated to take on the Educational Industry. Many people have the noble intention and to appreciate nobility with better pay is equally important to India like her Defense forces and the budget allocated.
Current HR Trends:
1. Competition of Target regardless of place or nature of completing task.

2. Stay in Interviews.

3. Radical redesigning of 'VISION MANAGEMENT'
HR Strategies In Place
1. Open Table at every Thursdays evenings where the Management representatives and Staff discuss freely on how to improve situation and defuse negative tension.

2. 'Fire Up' rather than 'You are Fired' policy.

3. 'RJR' - 'Real Job Rotation'
Advice For Fellow HR Leaders:
Spend at least 40% of your time Communicating (Positive Speaking and active listening)
Pain Points:
'Lack of appreciation', 'negative attitude towards employees' and 'lack of co-operation with fellow departmental heads' in an organization.
Qualities that we Look For While Hiring:
'Creativity', 'Honesty', 'Contacts' and 'Previous Work and Achievement Track record '
Relationship with HR and Top Management
'That of a wife and the Head of the family'
HR Challenges:
1. Staff with Entrepreneurial Instinct are show excellence in their work at the same time Staff with Entrepreneurial Aspirations eventually starting their own establishment possess a unique challenge of Intellectual crossover and also transfer of manpower (A Typical HR nightmare as insufficient manpower is viewed as HR's incompetence)

2. Budgeting is an area most HRs skip. 'Understanding Ground Reality' is as important as feeling the 'Pulse of the Organization'
Attract good people, Retain Better Performers and Advance the Best:
Focus on what gives Result and continuously work on the same. Do the Same thing everyday then things fall in place automatically.
