The Journey So Far:
I started my carrier as a chartered accountant and soon decided to make a change and moved to the fitness industry 20 years back. The goal was not to enter into it as a business but more to make a change in my life and the lives of others. Those days body builders were trainers and I wanted to change that and became Andhra Pradesh's first certified trainer.
A Fine Balance:
By working so hard and not giving anyone an opportunity to point a finger at me.
Top Leadership Qualities:
My vision is to see my business grow. My vision is to see myself as a leader in this industry and make our country proud . I want to do things that will get India on the world Map where my industry is concerned.
Job Profile:
I established Dinaz in 1993. It was a sole proprietor for years. In 2007 we be became a pvt ltd company and now my husband and I are the two directors. I am the managing director and he is the ED. I have a great team to work with. However I do lead from the front whether it is training or business processes. I am the brain behind all new programs. I am still a hands on trainer and train a lot of people everyday.
Prized Accomplishment:
The goodwill and respect I have in society.
Advice For Fellow Leaders:
There are several inputs that one can offer, however, one advice that I believe is common and cuts across industries and business, no matter what area of business she works within, is take the time to deeply understand
Challenges Faced:
I see no challenges as a lady. In fact, I see it as an advantage because of the respect I get. However I dont take advantage of it.
What I Would Have Done Differently:
I know I would have had a lot more time & opportunity for a lot more exploration and calculated risks. One price that one pays with maturity is the added responsibilities and lack of time. Since my by-line is all men die, only some live. I would have liked to have more time to do all that I really could and would like to do. Had I the knowledge of all that I have now; I would have travelled a much longer road.
I have started my life from the scratch more than once, and in different arenas. One take away has been to never compromise or bank on the much hyped 'adjustments'. They almost never work as disgruntlement within yourself or among others, will surface. Any work or business can be successful only if there is a meeting of the basic value systems & attitudes.
Important Decisions:
To stay in control of my business, to grow at a steady pace and to continue educating. Held in this field to be on top of my industry. However the best career decisions I have taken is to follow my gut feeling.
