Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
I belong to a middle class Hindu family. Am married and have two children ages 15 and 4 years. Mother is a retired Music Lecturer and wife is working as an English Lecturer in a college
Role Model:
Swami Vivekananda - for putting the Hindu Religion and India on the center stage among the international community.
Subhash Chandra Bose - for giving impetus to the Freedom movement
Kishore Kumar - for giving us hundreds of soulful songs and music
The Journey So Far:
My work experience includes a mix of corporate and NGO sector. However, the major part was in the NGO sector for 20 years. I have grown as an individual and professional during my association with CARE India. CARE has played a significant role in nurturing my professional skills and groomed me well.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
The changes in the education system has played a vital role in the work environment in the business world. Work culture in India has traditionally been more driven by personal touch and emotions. However, the new educational institutional have induced the professional approach in the new generation.
Growth Strategy:
I've matured from my professional experience and am utilizing my learning in my business. Have laid foundation of my business on ethical business practice and professional approach. I am trying to enhance my skills on a regular basis and provide guidance to the young professionals for adding value
Advice For New Professionals:
Do not look for shortcuts for success. Have the basics strong and look for value addition to their jobs. Adopt the concept of smart working alongwith hard working. Be open for accepting criticism form others and improvise accordingly. Adapt to new situations and places.
Working Life Management:
Since I have a new business, this is difficult to manage but I feel that starting the day early helps in planning the day better and accomplishing the business, personal and leisure requirements
Career Profile:
Have my own business now, where I am learning new ways to strengthen and expand my work
The Decisions That Matter
Shifting from IT to NGO sector was a turning point in my career. Here I got the flavor of a corporate work environment, dealing with people with lot of sensitivity and the management side of the government sector.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
I am proud of establishing new systems which proved to be practical, based on ground reality and need based.
