The Journey So Far:
I started working in my graduation second year because I was too impatient to wait to prove myself to the world.
I started off making sales, fell in love with sales. After managing a sales team, I realized that training was my deepest passion.I do sales training now- a perfect combination for me.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
The word "professionalism" seems to get a new definition each day. From the time I started working, the sales and the training work environments have become more informal than they were.
The focus has been shifted from "this is how things should be done" to "what makes business."
Prized Accomplishment(s):
I am most proud of my early career stages. Growing from making sales to managing a sales team to training selling skills. This growth happened in two years time.
Plans For The Future:
Training others on how to be successful in my current job.
The Decisions That Matter
Moving fields- from sales to training.
Growth Strategy:
I connect everything I do everyday, every small action to the big picture.
Done Differently:
I would have been in sales and not moved to training.
Job Profile:
I train and coach consultants on:
- selling skills
- presentation skills
- communication skills
- intercultural skills
My training helps drive sales and equips consultants with the best communication strategies that are useful in their everyday jobs.
Degrees That Matter:
While experience teaches you a lot. To get into the training industry, getting certified by ISTD (Indian Society for Training and Development) or CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) will kick-start your career.
Working Life Management:
According to me, the key to work-life balance is time management. I manage my time effectively and that gives me a good work-personal life balance.
