Brief description about me
I am basically from Kerala, but born and brought up in North India. I did my schooling from DeIhi Public School, Nigahi. Then I completed my MBA in e-Commerce in May 2012 from Institute of Management Studies, DAVV, Indore. I was placed on campus in CapitalVia Global Research Limited. I love reading books and watching movies. Last completed book was Connect the Dots by Rashmi Bansal.

Now talking about my job, CapitalVia Global Research Ltd is a financial advisory company and my profile is e-Marketing Specialist. I will be completing 1 year in Jan 2013. My role is to generate online revenue for the company through SEO and SMM. In SMM, I cover almost all social Networking Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin. I handle 2-3 Blogs and 2 Websites, Increase their Google rankings and increase web traffic to these!!! Online campaigns are designed to drive traffic and generate qualified sale leads for our clients. Here, in my case the clients are traders who seek for advice on share markets. So, there's lots of learning and experimenting.

Since, I have not completed 1 yr, so presently I don't get any team to handle. But in near future am sure I'll be able and confident enough to handle a team of  5-6 members. I am really looking forward to it ..
Challenges in job
Everyday gives something challenging. See, our basic job is to get more and more traffic to our website and blog. But it's not just increase crowd, but to increase quality crowds ! In my case, the crowd here are Traders. So, we have to make sure the campaigns or content we display get to right people and they get the right things out of it. The programs must drove buzz and virality online. Before releasing any campaign we should track users behaviour. So, every day we have to churn up our brains to come up with something new yet simple.
Job made easy
I think the day to day advancement in technology, doing competitive analysis and being updated with the market industry, and understanding the changing tastes of people helps a lot.

Upcoming Trends
Trends that would be changing in the next couple of years are:
Page Rankings: Google algorithms have been changing frequently for quite some time, which affects the page rankings of blogs and websites. Reason behind why these page rankings are constantly being tweaked is that search engines find new and better ways to prioritize content. Another reason is to shake things up and avoid exploitation of existing algorithms to their advantage by webmasters and SEO firms.

Social Networking Sites: I expect that over the next few years, social networking will become heavily involved with SEO.

Site Performance: Another attribute that is likely to change in the future is to where and how a given website is accessed.

My point of view
India has a large amount of creative, innovative brains but has less opportunities. So, the talented people in India try to fly to other countries where they can utilize their talent efficiently and get a handsome pay too. According to me, students in India don't get to do what they actually want. For ex: if a student is very strong with developing games, apps etc, then in India, he/she won't be getting enough platform to showcase his talent whereas outside India, there's always a huge scope to these students. So, if we rather provide enough resources and recognize their talent in time, you never know, India will also shine in the tech field one day !

My goal
I don’t have a specific plan! I would like to advance. However, I am flexible. I will do my current job to the best of my ability and keep my eyes open for opportunities within the organization to advance even if it means changing roles. I am prepared to learn new things and contribute to the overall success of the organization in a number of ways.

Family background
My dad Mr. V J Sukumaran, is a Manager at NCL(Northern coalfields Ltd) and my mom is a housewife. I have an younger sister who is doing her engineering.

Advice to professionals
Internet marketing is a vast field. There are different specialties to Internet Marketing. If you’re going to take “Internet Marketer” at face value, you’re being silly. If you’re new to Internet Marketing, choose a discipline and a niche that you can tackle head on and be successful at. You can’t do everything at once. A basic understanding of different Internet Marketing elements is fine, but it’s not practical to be everything to everyone.

Advice to students
If you are in college and looking forward to some job in internet marketing, then prepare yourself for it from now. Try reading a lot on SEO(Search Engine Optimization). Read blogs on SEO by Matt Cutts, Neel Patel, Avinash Kaushik. These are some really interesting and knowledgeable blogs! Classrooms don’t teach to think on your feet, so don't depend on your college. Go for some internships, and make the most of it. And most of all STAY UPDATED... All the Best!!!
