Company and job profile
I've come from a family which is mostly focused on Business, and i always wanted to do my own venture away from family business. I was specific about Engineering from my middle school days and was firm about my decision. Mobile phones always amazed me back then , and still continues to amaze. So i selected Bachelors in Electronics and Communications at a Collage 90 km away from my home and stayed in hostel for couple of years and did commute long hours for couple of years. I worked in RF Department in Idea Cellular for my final semester project and i completed my Degree successfully. My next step was to gear up for US for further studies. After landing to US in Dallas, I Completed my Master's Degree in Telecommunications from UT-Dallas, specializing in Wireless Networking, and since 2008 Feb,I have been working with Qualcomm as a Sr. GPS Engineer. Qualcomm Inc is a great company with HQ based in San Diego.I'm loving my job and with perfect San-Diego weather, there's not much to complain
Views about 'Tech product Introduction is weak among Indians'
Its not true. We do have S/W products giants like Infosys.
The reason why we dont have companies like Apple and Google in India is not because we don't have talent, but there is not much room for that talent to nourish into something big.
The overall education system in India is improving in India and we do have IITs and IIMs, but there are certain challenges overall with population/corruption/reservations. I am not saying its entirely wrong, but it can definitely use some work there.
Being different
Well , being an Enginner , you inadvertently have logic behind everything or develop one.
Everything i/other engineer does has to be logically , which i think other non-engineers might find odd/different. It might be annoying at times.
But it just like a politican would talk about votes/rallies, Engineer would talk Logic :)
Goals and Ambitions
I want to thrive in this Industry- no doubt.

Backing up my Engineering knowledge and experience with a hint of Management (MBA) or Law would add a lot of value to my profile.

I need to find time for either a part time MBA or law and take it from there, one step at a time.

On a lighter note- My wish (partly ambitions) are to keep playing domestic San Diego Cricket and go watch FIFA WORLD CUP 2014 arranged in Brazil.
Family Background
My dad's into Business , My sister's a fashion designer and mom's a housewife. Most of my family is into business
Current Trends
GPS (my area) initially was a luxury say 5 years back, but now its a requirement in US with most of the people buying smart phones capable of GPS. Also with current Deployment of 4G (LTE) not just in US but across world including China and India brings out room for lot of exponential developemt.

My role model
Sachin Tendulkar (Most of the Indians would say this, i know)

But for me, Sachin is my role model not because he is the greatest batsmen in world, but more importantly he is so nice as a person . He 's never been in controversies , never show-offs what he has achieved and always showed simplicity to life.
he has all the powers to do other wise if he wishes

My theory is , if you want to test a man's character, don't give him adversity but give him powers and see how he holds up . Sachin fits that bill very well
Managing professional as well as personal life
It's hard to keep your work and personal life separate , but i try to take things as it comes.
My important career decision
Being an Engineer.
Challenges faced in job
Its growing me as a person , giving me capability to think in multi direction
