Before starting with the classes let me walk you through some simple things, which will help you in understanding HTML better.

My first question is what is HTML?
I hope you know it, even if you don’t know don’t worry about it.
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.
HTML is not a programming language it is a markup language.

Am sure now a question would have popped up in your mind, what is markup language?
Markup language is a language that has codes for indicating layout and styling (such as boldface, italics, paragraphs, placement of graphics, etc.)

Why we are using HTML?
Its simple! To create a web page. Now don’t ask me what’s a web page :-)

HTML document contains of what?
HTML documents contain HTML tags and plain text
Now you must be thinking what are this HTML tags?

What all you need for learning HTML or creating a web page?
Of course you need a computer :-)
You can use notepad for writing and editing the pages. I will show you how it works in the later chapters
I believe using notepad is the best way to learn HTML
However, professional web developers often prefer HTML editors like FrontPage or Dreamweaver, instead of writing plain text.
