Bangalore: The number of Indians present in the billionaire’s guild across the globe is increasing at a brisk pace and Indians settled in U.S. are not far behind when it comes to being in the limelight.

Take a look at the Indian American billionaires who have made it to America’s Rich List, as reported by Karishma Roye of Luxpresso.

Bharat Desai

Desai who was Born in Kenya and raised in India, attended the renowned Indian Institute of Technology- Mumbai and later moved to the U.S. as a programmer for Tata Consultancy Services in 1976. Four years later, Desai founded Syntel while earning his M.B.A. from University of Michigan.

Desai Started Syntel with basic instruction program operations with $2,000, after which the IT consulting and outsourcing company went public in 1997. Presently it employs more than 21,000 people from around the world.

Desia whose net worth is $2.2 billion has received the title of Entrepreneur of the Year from USA Today and NASDAQ in 1996, as well as the Michigan Entrepreneur Award from Harvard University in 1999. He is also a diehard cricket fan who has represented India in the 1994 bridge world championship; but these days he is a big supporter of yoga as well as cricket.
